Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Kanto Research platform (“Service”), operated by Brands of Babel LLC, operating as Kanto Research (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

Your continued use following any modifications constitutes acceptance of those modifications.

2. Description of Service

Kanto Research operates Yuki, a text-message service for people buying graded Pokemon cards. You tell Yuki which cards you are looking for. Yuki monitors listings and auctions, compares them against prices those cards have recently sold for, and sends you a text message when one is priced below that.

The Service also publishes price guides and per-card pages on this website.

What Yuki is not. Yuki is an AI, not a person, and the Service says so. Yuki does not buy anything on your behalf, does not bid, does not hold funds, and is not a party to any transaction. Every purchase is between you and the seller on whichever marketplace the listing is on. We are not a broker, dealer, auction house, escrow agent, or grading authority.

The Service covers graded Pokemon cards and is available in English. Coverage depends on how much recent sale data exists for a given card, and for some cards there is not enough to state a meaningful price. Features and pricing may change.

3. Text Messages and Consent

3.1 You start it. We send text messages only to a number provided to us for that purpose. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

3.2 Frequency. How often you hear from Yuki depends on how many cards you are watching and how often one is priced below market. Message and data rates may apply under your own carrier agreement.

3.3 Stopping. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. STOP takes effect immediately.

3.4 Quiet hours. We do not text outside 8am to 9pm in your local time unless you have separately asked to be notified overnight when an auction is closing. You may withdraw that at any time.

3.5 Delivery is not guaranteed. Text messages depend on your carrier and on networks we do not control. Messages may be delayed, filtered, or not delivered at all. We do not guarantee that you will receive any particular alert, or receive it in time to act on it. Auctions end whether or not a message arrives.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Plans. Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars. The number of cards each plan covers is stated on the site at the time you subscribe.

4.2 Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.

4.3 Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.

4.4 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time by texting Yuki or by emailing hello@kantoresearch.com. Cancellation stops future charges. We do not prorate the month in progress.

4.5 Joining the waitlist is free and does not start a subscription or a charge.

5. User Accounts

5.1 Registration: Some features require an account with accurate, current information.

5.2 Security: You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.

5.3 Your number. Do not give us a mobile number that is not yours. If your number changes or is reassigned, tell us, so we do not text someone who never agreed to hear from us.

5.4 Termination: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@kantoresearch.com.

6. Affiliate Disclosure

Kanto Research participates in the eBay Partner Network. Links to eBay listings contain affiliate tracking parameters. If you make a purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our fair value estimates, deal scores, or any analytical output. Our analytics are generated algorithmically from market transaction data.

8. Data Accuracy and Availability

We make commercially reasonable efforts to provide accurate data. However, data is sourced from third-party platforms and is subject to their limitations. We do not warrant:

• The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any price data or fair value estimate
• Uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Service
• That all market transactions will be captured
• That card identification or grading attribution will be correct in every instance

Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. You use all data at your own risk.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, data compilations, and analytics methodologies, is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. All rights reserved.

Pokemon, card names, set names, and associated imagery are trademarks of The Pokemon Company, Nintendo, and their affiliates. Grading company names are trademarks of their respective owners. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc. Kanto Research is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these entities.

You may not scrape, reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any data or content from the Service without prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRANDS OF BABEL LLC, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of King County, Washington.
